Is semi-permanent makeup really permanent?
In short, yes and no. Micropigmentation, also known as semi-permanent makeup (SPMU) and permanent makeup (PMU), is an art form of cosmetic tattooing. It's designed to look and heal like makeup and lasts between 2 - 5 years. However, the initial elected colour will fade over time and indefinite particles of the pigment will always remain in the skin's epidermis. It is not the same art as body tattooing with ink, which is truly permanent.
Micropigmentation is the cosmetic term for long-lasting, professionally applied makeup. Using specialised pigments, it's usually applied to create digital, nano-embellished eyebrows with natural looking hair replications, or an ombré effect, sophisticated eyeliner and stunning lip colour enhancements.
Using a medical-grade digital device gives incredible results which can last anywhere from approximately 12 to 18 months and at times longer. It's perfect for brows, eyeliner and lip colour enhancements. The ability to use various types of specialised needles with the digital device means that delicate techniques can be applied, and hygienic, realistic makeup results can be created.

Hair Simulated Brow
Over plucking, injury, medical conditions such as alopecia, medical treatments such as chemotherapy and the aging process can all impact on eyebrow loss that affects both your appearance and quite often your confidence.
Realistic/Fluffy Brow
Hair simulation creates natural looking brows with ultra fine hair strokes using one or multiple colours. This technique can enhance the natural shape, give symmetry and add length to tails of the brows where they are missing.
Ombre / Powder Brow
This type of eyebrow tattooing gives a similar effect to that created with an eyebrow powder, infusing colour to create the perfect brow shape giving a soft definition beneath the natural hair growth.
Combo Brow
Combination eyebrows is a mixture of hair stroke and shading in between to give you that texturised, yet natural look. This is one of Hazel's signature brow techniques before combo brows was discovered in 2021.
Henna Brow
The Henna Brow experience shapes and tints the brow hair and skin more effectively than regular tinting and sets to a powder like matte finish that may last several weeks.

Good hygiene and equipment are very important, and we operate a strict policy regarding our suppliers. All our materials and products are provided by the best manufacturers and adhere to all UK safety laws.
All our suppliers are regulated sources and the pigments we use are REACH compliant. REACH stands for the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals. Its goal is to give a high level of protection from chemicals to health and the environment.
All products we use are to the best of our knowledge, legal and industry compliant to REACH. Hazel Diamond Ltd. will not be held liable should our suppliers cease to be compliant or change their ingredients or formulations without our knowledge. However, we reserve the right to change our products in these circumstances at short notice to maintain our own high standards and REACH compliance. In these instances, we will always let you know of any changes before your treatment commences.

I came to Hazel for correction of my semi permanent eyebrows that were done poorly elsewhere a year previous to my visit. My eyebrows were uneven and had an awful orange/pink colour to them. I have very little natural eyebrow hair and this is why I initially decided on having semi permanent makeup. Hazel completely transformed my eyebrows. She managed to correct not only the shape but the colour pigment too. (Believe me this was not an easy job!) The procedure is slightly painful however Hazel is very calming and applies numbing cream throughout to make it more comfortable. She draws the shape on before proceeding and explains every step of the process. I would without doubt recommend Hazel to anyone interested in this procedure and after my initial bad experience would recommend paying slightly more for someone extremely experienced like Hazel to ensure an amazing end result. The Protocol Steps
1. Consultation
First a comprehensive consultation via telephone or in person. Book in today, as our waiting list can be 4 - 6 weeks! The contact form is here.
2. Allergy Test
Second is a mandatory patch test, skin tone & colour analysis to ensure you're not allergic to the pigment. A deposit is then required to secure your booking.
3. Procedure
Consultation forms will be given for full written consent before any administration starts. The design of your desired shape, colour and your main objectives are agreed with you before we proceed.
4. Aftercare
After your initial treatment, you will be invited back for a recommended retouch session and review your results. All customers are required to follow the strict aftercare given, please read & follow steps here.

Before Your Initial Procedure
Before we can begin your treatment, all new customers are required to have a consultation appointment, either by telephone or in person. We will sometimes ask for photos to be sent to us privately to assess your requested area please see our privacy policy for how we treat your data. For those who we feel would benefit from our treatments, we would follow up with emails, a patch test and the deposit to secure your appointment.
After Your Initial Procedure
After your initial treatment at one of our clinics, you will be invited back to have a recommended retouch session and review your results. All clients of Hazel Diamond Ltd will be invited back to the clinic for their 6-12 weeks top up session or to return annually. Our regular clients are given a loyalty discount for annual and additional appointments.
